He Finally Asked!!

Well, after a year and a half of patience and persistence, asking me if I was married or had a husband yet, he finally proposed! The nicest second grade boy I could ask for, that is...He was a little shy though, so he did the next best thing he could - sent the letter via a second grade girl that said, "Can we get merry?" I didn't give him an answer yet...

Oh the joys of teaching! I have to give him credit though - he was very persistent, making sure each week for the past year and a half that I didn't have anyone for him to compete with!

That was yesterday, but today I think he decided that maybe proposing out of the blue was a little fast, and a date might be in order first...so he wrote me again today:

"For Miss Wincker - From *C - Can we go on date? Yes or No" I could only laugh and smile, and I think I turned a little red too! haha This time he delivered the note himself.

I'm trying to think of a way to say no to him nicely...don't want to make him too sad!

Conversation with a first grade girl...

"Miss Whitaker, you didn't get married yet?"

"Nope, not yet..."

"Oh maaaaaaan!"

I never determined where this question came from or why it got the reaction it did...

My kids make me smile. :)

As usual, I've been lacking in the writing blogs/keeping the world updated. I'll try to write again soon!
